Hey Neil, To answer your question:

For us the presence, within a reasonable distance, of reliable health care is certainly one of the factors we have on the list while choosing the location of our house for residence in Bali. However, the present plans of the government in the Sanur area will not make a real difference for us I guess. But it’s sure interesting to witness those kind of initiatives on Bali. The argument of the gov. to in that way “apart the development of health tourism to attract tourists and concurrently boost health facilities” also reduce the number of Indonesians travelling overseas to seek medical treatment (as the Bali Times writes) makes sense in theory. Time will tell how it works out in practice...

Best regards, Sybren

Did Indonesian / Bali government say where exactly they were setting aside the land for medical tourism?

Is it in North Bali near the new airport that they are also talking about?
