Dear readers,
I've finally been able to get an amazing team to support a vision of senior housing that is enriching and creative and much more.
And it's going to happen in Bali, Indonesia!
There's a ton of details that have not been worked out but it is safe to say that the management team of Nuanu, a future "creative city" is enthusiastically behind the effort.
We are hoping to start Phase I with one hundred residential units and be move-in ready within 2 years.
I have been interested in alternative living ever since Lloyd Kahn wrote Shelter over 50 years ago. At that time, having a single book with images of hundreds of unique structures, none of which required a building permit, simply blew my mind:
It was my youthful dream to someday save up $50,000 and move to the woods and build a living space off-grid with my own two hands (and additional help for sure).
The closest I have come was to join the crew of a speculative building project I began in 2016. Unfortunately I needed a boatload of building permits and 12X more $ than my initial financial projection of $50k.
All-in-all it took approximately four decades, but now a new dream can happen. We can help define a life-enhancing community that will not only be for seniors, but will integrate with a larger community from all over the world that will live and/or visit Nuanu.
A sneak peek (note: under construction so rough around the edges for now) :
Massive yoga / community space
Amphitheater
State-of-the-art recording studio and artist residences
The above imagery is perhaps 1/50th of what will be developed over the next five years.
Even though the project is in its very early stages, we are very interested in getting your feedback now. So please answer the polls above and leave comments or questions after clicking the button below:
Thank you,
Neill
