Interesting email Neil. I not only appreciate but enjoy your updates, and especially seeing your progress. Where exactly are you in Bali, and where is your land? As in, I'd like to Google Earth it and get a view -- Tom
Congrats on the purchase! I can understand nothing in SE Asia works as how we are used to it being in the States. Everything is a learning process and I find it interesting how other cultures do things. Ohana retreat looks beautiful, maybe next time we will stay there! I really enjoy your blog and sharing the intricate details of buying and building in Bali. What is the community concept you’re proposing? Is it where you can a house in a community?
Thanks for your comments. The idea would be to lease a villa or apartment but also have access to a community building for meals and entertainment, as well as a shared swimming pool etc. I haven't worked out all the details but I'm thinking of offering 1 to 30 year leases. What do you think?
The idea of a community is nice, however I'm one of those people who would prefer a small community. I dislike being in places with many people. Would the community attract families, younger people, retired? I guess people from all walks of life could do.
This will be a small community of 5 or 7 residences. Bali attracts people from all over the world. But probably not families as the property is not near an international school.
Hey Neill -- Good post, although it doesn't really say why you are buying the land or what you plan to do with it (exceptsave the trees -- is that it?) Good luck with the project in any event! Scott

Great write up on the process. Fascinating on several levels.

This land will be for the community concept that I will be developing. Will be working on it ASAP
Congrats 🥳 that’s a nice area close to Joshua District Café and Pantai Kedungu
Thanks Scott. It's a bit out of the way but the setting is worth it
