Some of you know that I wrote a self-published book on how to retire in Bali for $1,800 USD per month, but even though I updated it over a year ago, it's not state of the art info anymore. I also wrote an online course that would give newcomers a game plan for how to transition to Bali.
I uploaded both of those documents to Google's NotebookLM, an experimental website that turns documents into "conversations" between two audio bots that sound like humans. It's both impressive and scary, mostly because the future is... here...
It's 10 minutes:
Enjoy,

I will definitely give this a listen. I was thinking about AI a lot yesterday when, upon arriving to Ubud for a long weekend, my first use of Gojek app turned into a disaster where the app didn't register that I have arrived to my destination (and paid the driver), and it kept sending drivers to my original point of departure. In the end, after having to tell 6 different drivers that I didn't order the ride, and feeling awful, I had to deleted my Gojek app and used Grab instead, which, so far, seems more user friendly and almost more human... AI/bots are a great playground but I am sure they don't feel guilty when they mess up.
