A Bali Journey Part III
Yesterday was a momentous day. My partner Johannes and I created a PT-PMA company called PT Oxo Capital Indonesia in order to be prepared to close our land deal on April 4th.
As previously mentioned this has been a 3 year journey for me, and about 1.5 years for Johannes. We started working together under what we thought would be the Nuanu "umbrella" of projects but it fell through.
A few months later, when a unique land acquisition opportunity presented itself to Johannes, he asked me to take a look. I immediately thought it would be ideal as an active living community for 55+ (or anyone looking for community). Eight months later, after extensive due diligence as well as crafting a business arrangement and legal structure, we are confident that the upcoming signing date will be honored by both parties.
We are starting to see the beginnings of purpose-driven community housing in Bali, such as Family Village Canggu. Included among a set of private villas is a large playground, a communal pool, garden, pet zoo, BBQ, and event space.

Johannes' Oxo Group is developing Ecoverse. The development "transcends the traditional concept of residential spaces. It introduces a variety of selected residential and resort facilities for the convenience of guests and investors alike. From a library and clubhouse to co-working spaces, a pool bar, a fitness center, and a swimming pool, Ecoverse transforms living into an experience."
In Berawa, The Luc is developing a "mix development lifestyle": 108 Rooms Lifestyle Hotel, 14 Upscale Furnished Villas, and 14 Commercial Units including a gourmet market and amphitheater.
Part of what is driving this new community trend in Bali are the infrastructure issues: it's just becoming more of a headache to travel for more than a few kilometers in order to enjoy a casual dinner in a neighboring town.
Our plan for our active living community is to have loads of activities and dining options available without requiring you to exit the property. Of course you can go wherever you like, and in that regard we will have shuttle vans available so that you can relax and leave the headaches to the dedicated drivers.
